33 Weeks

Here I am with my new Chicco stroller, car seat travel set. As usual Frank is close by.
On Friday Amy helped me make the curtains for Little E's room. On Saturday Eric and I visited North Side Forsyth Hospital Women's Center to tour where we will be delivering. The hospital is beautiful. It is like a Spa/Resort and is only about 25 minutes away from our house.
On Sunday we hung the curtains, a mirror, and cute picture that the Hornsby's gave us in Little E's room and Eric painted Little E's display bookshelf. We are very close to being finished with Little E's room. It is very exciting as he will be here very soon! As soon as the room is complete I will take pictures and post them on the blog.
This week Little E weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark.

32 Weeks

Little E weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space. He seems to be running out of room as he looked cramped in there during our 3D ultrasound. Little E now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (we saw his hair during the ultra sound on Sunday). We could not tell the color but he does have quite a bit of hair. Little E's skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth. He is definitely not a small baby. You can tell that from the 3D pictures.

I can't wait to hold Little E. I still have to wait 8 more weeks.

I passed!!

The OB called this morning and I passed the Glucose test!! Little E and I do not have Gestational Diabetes. I made them read me all my numbers to verify.

I also added another registry site. http://onestepahead.com/home.jsp
They have a few things that other places don't.

2 Days until we see Little E at the 3D Ultrasound!!!!

Pediatrician

Eric and I picked a Pediatrician for Little E after two separate interviews. Her name is Dr. Karen Dewling. She seems wonderful!! The office web site is great if you want to check it out. http://www.johnscreekpediatrics.net/ She reminds me very much of my Aunt Karen which made it an easy choice. Dr. Dewling was named one of Atlanta's Top Doctors in the July 2007 issue of Atlanta Magazine.

Her office is very friendly and she and her staff like to spend time getting to know the families they work with. They have a specific location in the rooms for the doctor to sit down when they come in so that they can answer all your questions and not make you feel rushed.

I felt Little E having hiccups for the first time today. It was really neat to feel. Poor little guy, I bet that was uncomfortable for him!

Eric and I are going to tour the Northside Forsyth Hospital Maternity Area
Saturday April 25th, from 11:30-15:15PM. http://www.northside.com/medical_services/3dtourmaternity/slideshow.html
This is the link to the virtual tour if you are intersted. The 2 pediatricians we interviewed both said it is beautiful and have heard good things about it.

I have not heard any results from the Glucose test yesterday. I called the OB office and they said I might not hear until tomorrow. I am hoping for good news.

Little E 31 Weeks

This week, Little E measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. Little E is moving more and more and becoming stronger.

So I went to the doctor today. They said Little E measures normal at 31 weeks. His heartbeat was good. The nurse who called and told me the results of the Glucose screening was incorrect. I was 8 points higher than I should have been so I have to go back tomorrow for a 3 hour fasting Glucose test. Hopefully everything goes well and I pass. I should know results on Friday or Monday.

31 Weeks Happy Easter!!

Tam came to visit for Easter weekend. This was our last easter without an Easter Egg hunt or an Easter Basket. There is so much to look forward to.
Little E has gotten so big that some of my maternity tops will not cover him. Tam helped me shop for a couple more maternity outfits and some items for the babies room. The babies room is coming along. I bought the material for the curtains and plan to make them this coming weekend. The material is brown with blue spots. It matches the bedding really well. Amy helped me find it a couple of weeks ago.
Little E's letters to hang over the crib that spell ERIC came as well as a display book shelf which Eric and I are going to stain or paint to match the rest of the room. When I am finished Little E is going to have the nicest room in the house. At least I won't have to worry about it.
We get to see Little E during our 30 minute 3D ultrasound on Sunday!! I can't wait. I will post pictures and a video after the visit.

30 Weeks!!!

Little E is not so Little!! It feels like I have a basketball in my belly.
10 days until we get to see Little E in 3D. I will post the video as soon as we get home.
Little E is about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
