37 Week Appointment

I had my 37 week check up today. Even though my legs and feet have been extremely swollen this week, my blood pressure was good. Little E remains in the ready position. While determining the baby was in the ready position the doctor stated that she thinks the baby will weigh 8 lbs or more. The doctor also says she hopes I deliver in the next 2 weeks as that is when they are on call at the Forsyth Hospital. My Group B Strep test came back positive meaning that I am a carrier, so I have to have a penicillin iv during labor to protect the baby. 10-30% of pregnant women are carriers of GBS. If you want to read more about it visit the following site. http://www.babycenter.com/0_group-b-streptococcus-screening_1647.bc
My next appointment is Tuesday at 9:15 AM and then the following Wednesday at 2:15PM.
I am very ready for Little E to come!!!!

Who's Baby is Bigger?

I think Big E wins this one!!

37 Weeks Memorial Weekend

We really enjoyed visiting with everyone who came in town for Memorial weekend!!

Little E is full term this week! Little E weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard).

36 Weeks!

I had my 36 week check up this morning. Little E measured appropriately and his heart beat was good. He was moving all throughout the exam. He has been very active lately. He kicked me for an hour and 1/2 last night and all day today. Little E is still in delivery position.
He is ready!!
My next appointment is Thursday of next week.
Little E is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. At the end of this week, Little E will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.)

35 Week Appointment / Registry Update

My doctors appointment went well today. They said the baby is in position. They have my due date down as June 18th (36 days from today) so we will see when Little E decides to make his appearance. My next appointment is on Monday and every week from now on until the baby comes. I should have more up to date information about delivery as I go to my appointments.

I have had a couple people ask where we are registered. Here is an update

35 Weeks!!

Little E doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Despite the fact that he is running out of room Little Eric still kicks and punches quite a bit. He does not want me to forget he is in there. Not that I would as my belly is huge!! It almost looks fake. Little E is a very busy boy and Eric and I can't wait to meet him.

Mother's Day 2009

35 Weeks! Eric and I in our new outfits. My mom bought me the really comfortable, cute dress on Friday and I bought Eric his shirt on Saturday while we were Mother's Day shopping.
Uncle Bobby got Little E a Diaper Genie for Mother's Day!!

We will definitely need one of those.

Nursery / 34 weeks

When you walk into the room the top picture is the 1st thing you see as you turn to the right you see the crib then the dresser and then the mirror and book shelf.
The curtains pictured and the pillow are what I made to go in the room.
I still need to hang Eric's letters pictured in the hutch over the crib as well as 2 other pictures on the wall on either side of the hutch but other than that we are almost ready!
I know the books on the book shelf are a little advanced (they are from my 1st grade teaching days). We will have to get some soft cloth and plastic ones that Little E can look at.
Little E now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. He has been getting the hiccups a lot lately. He had them twice yesterday. Little E continues to move quite a bit. My stomach was lop sided yesterday as his bottom was poking out on the left front and his fingers were on the right side. He is not quite in the right position to come out yet so I believe he is hanging in there. My next OB appointment is 5-13 at 9:00AM.

Bassinet

This is where Little E will be spending his first 6 weeks or so sleeping in our bedroom so that we don't have to venture to the nursery each time for feedings. Tam Pham Jacob bought us this beautiful Eddie Bauer Bassinet for Little E. I have not gotten batteries yet but it plays music has a night light and will rock when it is pushed.
