28 Weeks

Eric and I have been running around like crazy trying to get things ready for Little E.
Last weekend Bobby helped us unload and carry baby furniture upstairs and Eric and I ordered Little E's glider (It is a big comfy chair and ottoman that glide and swivel). This week Eric and I cleaned, primed, and painted Little E's room. This weekend Bob and Amy are coming over to help us install a ceiling fan in Little E's room, put together the baby furniture and possibly pick out some fabric for curtains.
I had my glucose test on Friday of last week and found out yesterday that I passed. Eventhough Little E is not so little I do not have Gestational Diabetes and my iron count was good.
From now on I have appointments every 2 weeks. My next appointment is April 14th.
Eric and I start our parenting class at Johns Creek Emory Hospital Thursday April 2nd. We have it from 6:30-8:30PM for 4 Thursdays.
On the 14th and 15th of April we are going to meet with 2 possible pediatricians that Little E might go to.
Little E will be here before we know it. Time sure flies when you are waiting for something exciting!!!

Little E weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, Little E may be able to see the light that filters in through my womb.

Week 27

This week, Little E weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He is sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, Baby E's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now.

Eric and I scheduled our 3D ultrasound for April 19th at 1:45PM. I will have a video that I will post on the blog of Little E after the appointment. We are very excited to see his cute little face!! I will be between 31 and 32 weeks when we go for our appointment so we should be able to see what he will look like when he is born.

26 Weeks

Little E and I are now into the 3rd Trimester. 3 months left. He sure is big. I am not quite sure where 3 more months of growth are going to go. I already feel like I have a beach ball as a belly.

The network of nerves in Little E's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your Eric and I as we chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. Little Eric is continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.

Little E's first trip to the beach

Turks and Caicos February 2009 Canvas Quota Club Trip

25 Weeks

Head to heels, Little E is about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. Little E is also growing more hair — and if we could see it, we'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
Big E and I are going to schedule a 3D ultrasound so that we will have video to put on the blog of Little E moving around. I am not sure when we will go but I am already looking forward to seeing him again. If we did not schedule another ultrasound we would not get to see him until birth.
